Cancelado el SIMO 2008

Se confirma lo que ya muchos esperaban. La edición 48 de SIMO, la Feria Internacional de Informática, Multimedia y Comunicaciones que estaba prevista para la semana del 11 al 16 de noviembre de 2008, se cancela.
Ifema ha confirmado hoy que debido a las ausencias de las más importantes empresas del sector, se ha aplazado el evento hasta el año que viene. Hace unos días nos enterábamos de que grandes empresas como Microsoft y Toshiba no acudirían este año como expositores. A esta lista de ausencias hoy se han añadido Teléfonica y Vodafone, por lo que Ifema ha decidido aplazar el evento hasta el año que viene.
El aplazamiento lo justifican diciendo que están trabajando en “un nuevo marco comercial y promocional adecuado para las empresas participantes”. Asimismo afirman que “IFEMA viene trabajando a lo largo de los últimos meses, con la colaboración de la consultora Gartner, en la definición de un nuevo modelo ferial para el sector TIC, en línea con el compromiso adquirido con esta industria, manifestado a lo largo de la apasionante trayectoria de este salón, el más veterano de cuantos se celebran en Madrid.”
Así pues, tendremos que esperar al año que viene para comprobar en que consiste esa propuesta innovadora que va a permitir a las empresas participantes en esta feria rentabilizar el gran desembolso que supone acudir a ella en calidad de expositores.
Ya sólo nos queda una duda: ¿Habrá SIMO 2009 o será éste el fin de una feria que ha sido el referente del ocio digital y las nuevas tecnologías en los últimos años?
